Bogota, Dhu-AlQa'dah 24, 1436, September 08, 2015, SPA -- Police in Colombia and Mexico seized two tonnes of cocaine being transported between the two countries: one tonne was seized at El Dorado airport in Bogota, while the other was seized when a plane landed in Mexico City, Colombian police said Monday on Twitter, according to dpa. The drugs had been hidden in zinc oxide and were dispatched in airliners. From Mexico, the Sinaloa drug cartel was allegedly planning to send it on to the United States and Europe. No one was arrested. Police were investigating whether airport personnel were involved in the drug smuggling operation, a police spokesman told Colombian radio station Radio Caracol. Colombian police said they have seized 115 tonnes of cocaine so far this year, while a further 47 tonnes have been seized after being shipped abroad. --SPA 01:32 LOCAL TIME 22:32 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
