Paris, Shawwal 11, 1436, Jul 27, 2015, SPA -- Forest fires in southern France have prompted firefighters to evacuate three campsites near Frejus, affecting 10,000 holidaymakers, a statement from the regional administration said on Monday. Some 5,500 had to leave Pin de la Legue site, while 3,000 were forced out of Holiday Green site and a further 1,500 from Pierre Verte site, dpa reported. No injuries were reported, but 40 camping vehicles were burnt out. Frejus council accommodated evacuated campers in two halls. Extremely dry conditions and strong winds affecting the south of the country for days helped ignite the fires. Firefighters continued to battle fires around Bordeaux in the south-west of the country on Monday.
