Ashton Carter told the Senate's defense committee, chaired by Senator John McCain, "We will continue to stand by our allies to confront Iran's subversive activity," stressing that the nuclear program agreement, which has been reached between Tehran and world powers, would not limit the US ability to use military force if necessary.
