Seoul, Ramadan 26, 1436, Jul 13, 2015, SPA -- South Korea reported no new case of infection with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) for eight straight days on Monday, with no death being added, the health ministry said. The total contagion cases were unchanged at 186 since July 6, Xinhua quoted the Ministry of Health and Welfare as saying. The spread of the MERS corona virus recently showed signs of abating. In the past 16 days, only four cases were reported. The government may declare an end to the MERS crisis no later than early-August. The death toll had no change at 36, leaving the fatality rate at 19.4 percent. The number of people, who were discharged from hospitals as they completely recovered after being infected, was unchanged at 130. Excluding the dead and those discharged, 20 patients are under treatment. Among them, four are in unstable conditions. The number of those quarantined rose from 485 on Sunday to 451 on Monday. --SPA 22:21 LOCAL TIME 19:21 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
