Six police vehicles rushed to the scene but the armed marauders they expected to find turned out to be nothing more than fieldworkers from an adjacent asparagus farm out on a lunch break, police said in a statement. Along with schnitzel, sausages and fried potatoes, asparagus - particularly of the white variety - epitomizes the country's cuisine.
