Dammam, May 29, 2020, SPA -- Dammam-based King Fahd International Airport is gearing up to, gradually, resume operating of domestic flight, according to the precautionary measures set forth by the General Aviation for Civil Aviation (GACA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to combat novel Coronavirus. The applied procedures included using thermal cameras for checkup, installing over 100 equipment to sanitize escalators as well as corridors, with ultra-violet rays' techniques, in addition to stickers urging physical distancing, at the airport. Masks, gloves and other protective gears are among the precautions to be abide by, in addition to cleaning all utilities, regularly, every 3-hour and sanitizing the airplanes, following each flight. Air flight schedule is set to guarantee an interval of at least 3-hour between a flight and the following, whether departing or arriving. In the first phase, ticketing offices at the airport will remain closed, but those escorting the elders or those with special needs, will be allowed in, two hours before the flight time, provided abidance by putting on the cloth masks and checking of temperature, on entry. Glass barriers are also set up to separate various airport services providers and the passengers, such as delivering boarding passes and luggage handling. On the other hand, keeping an empty chair between every other passenger or attendant and prohibiting closely-approach queuing, in line with the instructions, are exhorted.
