Foreign Missions in Saudi Arabia Visit Shaybah Oil Field on Edge of Empty Quarter Desert

Riyadh, Feb 22, 2020, SPA -- In cooperation with Aramco, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized yesterday a visit for a number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom to Shaybah crude oil field in Al-Rub' al Khali/Empty Quarter desert, during which they got acquainted with the oil field and its most prominent services and production plants. Accompanied by their families, the foreign ambassadors visited Shaybah oil field's protected area, which has a herd of Arabian Oryx and Ostriches, enjoyed views of sand dunes and took a hike in the natural areas. They all have been briefed on a detailed explanation of Shaybah major crude oil field and the unique economic and natural characteristics of the Empty Quarter desert. The visit is designed to have the official and diplomatic delegations accredited to Saudi Arabia become acquainted with the Kingdom's largest crude oil field in the world that has contributed effectively to supplying the world with oil.
