Crown Prince adopts two new initiatives on Cybersecurity, Governor of Riyadh Region announces

Riyadh, February 4, 2020, SPA -- Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, announced while opening the Global Cybersecurity Forum in Riyadh earlier today on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, has adopted two new initiatives to enhance the protection of cyberspace, one to protect children in cyberspace and the other to empower women in cyber security. The first initiative, adopted by the Crown Prince, focuses on developing the best practices, policies and programs to protect children against increasing cyber threats targeting children while using the internet. The crimes against children include exploiting them to commit crimes, or lure them to deviation thoughts and extremist and terrorist ideologies that might cause danger on countries and societies, in addition to personal crimes including fraud and theft of personal data, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz said. The Crown Prince's second initiative on cyberspace, includes empowering women on cyber security through encouraging and supporting them in the field of cyber security.
