Rome, Sha'ban 20, 1436, Jun 7, 2015, SPA -- Rescue teams across the Mediterranean were on Sunday bracing themselves for further emergencies, as UN officials reported that between 1,000 and 1,500 migrants had issued distress calls, a day after European-based teams pulled 3,480 people from the water, dpa reported. Those rescued on Saturday were expected being taken to Italy.
