Geneva, Sep. 23, 2019, SPA -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states expressed here today their concern over the continued marginalization of item 7 of the Human Rights Council's agenda, on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, noting that anyone who supports overlooking or marginalizing the item No. 7, on the agenda of the council, is in support of the occupying power to continue its crimes, Omani Permanent Representative to the United Nations Human Rights Council Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi said, on behalf of the GCC states, as he delivered GCC speech, before the Human Rights Council. He added that the violations that occur on an ongoing basis are systematic and sustainable against the Palestinian people by the occupying power, without paying attention to what is being said in the Council. In this context, the GCC member states reaffirm that the West Bank occupied by Israel since 1967 is a Palestinian territory under the realities of geography, history, international law and Security Council resolutions, and that unilateral actions by the occupying power and its attempts to change the historical, geographical and legal identity of Palestine, are rejected and condemned, by the international community as a whole. -- SPA 21:21 LOCAL TIME 18:21 GMT 0029 www.spa.gov.sa/w1177698
