Manila, August 20, 2019, SPA -- Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, held here today a meeting with Speaker of House of Representatives of the Philippines lan Peter Cayetano. At the outset of the meeting, the Speaker of House of Representatives of the Philippines welcomed the Speaker of the Shura Council, affirming the importance of consolidating bilateral relations and developing joint interests. He described the bilateral relations as strong and distinguished, particularly at the parliamentary level, expressing his country's keenness to expand these relations. The Filipino Speaker thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for supporting peace in Mindanao, the Philippines. For his part, the Speaker of Shura Council thanked his Filipino counterpart for a good reception and warm hospitality, affirming the importance of exchanging visits between the two sides. During the meeting, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh briefed the speaker and members of House of Representatives of the Philippines on the Kingdom Vision 2030's goals in order to achieve aims of sustainable development with its economic and social dimensions, highlighting the importance of the Philippines' workforce in supporting development in the Kingdom.
