New Delhi, August 13, 2019, SPA -- The death toll from floods in the southern Indian state of Kerala stood at 84 Tuesday as more bodies were recovered from landslide zones in the worst-affected districts of Mallapuram and Wayanad, disaster management officials said, according to dpa. More than 60 people were still missing and emergency search and rescue operations were ongoing, an official at the Kerala state's disaster management department said. Most of the deaths so far were caused by drowning and landslides. Three districts remained on red alert following warnings of heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours. In some other areas, people had started returning home as flood waters receded. At least 255,000 people were still living in temporary relief camps. --SPA 11:09 LOCAL TIME 08:09 GMT 0006 www.spa.gov.sa/w1155445
