Sydney, Jumada I 2, 1439, Jan 19, 2018, SPA -- A Malaysia Airlines flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur was forced to make an emergency landing in the outback city of Alice Springs after "violent shaking" which the airline blamed on "technical issues". Passengers reported hearing "loud banging noises" on board flight MH122 on Thursday evening as it was about to cross Western Australia's coastline, near Broome, dpa reported. As a result, the pilots shut down one of the engines and diverted the plane to Alice Springs. Malaysian Airlines said in a statement the plane was forced to land for "technical reasons." The flight's 224 passengers stayed overnight in Alice Springs. --SPA 14:26 LOCAL TIME 11:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w591256
