Jeddah, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 06, 1438 H., August 28, 2017, SPA -- All pilgrims who successfully applied for this year's pilgrimage from abroad, totaling as many as 1735391 have safely arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by air, land and sea, official authorities announced. The Director General of Passports Department Major General Suleiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya said, in a press conference here today, that, out of the 1735391 who arrived in the Kingdom, 1631979 came by air, 88585 by land and 14827 by sea, lauding the great interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, to facilitate the procedures of pilgrims entering the country through any of its inlets. He noted that his department has, under direct supervision and follow-up of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, who is also Chairman of Hajj Supreme Committee, successfully managed the air, land and sea flow of pilgrims recruiting highly-qualified and equipped personnel to guarantee a strict and swift entry of any pilgrim in a record time.
