Saudi Embassy in Britain Confirms Respect for Independence of the UK Judiciary

London, Shawwal 17, 1438, Jul 11, 2017, SPA -- Saudi embassy in the United Kingdom issued a statement here today on the decision of the British Supreme Court, on the legality of granting export licenses to sell weapons to the coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Embassy wishes to reaffirm its respect for the independence of the judiciary in the United Kingdom, the statement stated, adding that the embassy hailed the statement of the Court that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was and remains firmly committed to comply with international humanitarian law. Saudi-led Arab coalition aim is to restore legitimacy to Yemen, and it works with the unanimous support of the UN Security Council, through resolution 2216 to thwart the Houthi-backed rebellion in Yemen against the internationally-recognized government of President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom work together in various fields, the most important of which is joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the desire to establish peace and stability in Yemen and the region as well, the statement remarked.
