Riyadh, Rajab 7, 1438, Apr 4, 2017, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was awarded the "Service of Islam" category of King Faisal International Prize 2017 in recognition of his service of the two holy mosques and their visitors, his care of and support for the Prophet's biography in general and the project of Historical Atlas for the Prophet's biography in particular, establishing King Abdulaziz Complex for endowments libraries in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah for archiving the Arab and Islamic legacy, establishing King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, and his strenuous and constant endeavor to unite the positions of Arabs and Muslims to confront the difficult conditions the Arab and Islamic nations are facing. This came during the monarch's patronage of the giving away ceremony of the 39th version of King Faisal International Prize 2017 (1438 H.) held in Riyadh this evening. Upon arrival at Sultan Grand Gallery at Al-Faisaliah hotel, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who was accompanied by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the General Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and Prince Rakan bin Abdulaziz, was received by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, who is also Executive President of King Faisal Charitable Foundation and Chairman of King Faisal International Prize; Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; and Prince Bandar bin Saud in Khalid, Deputy Secretary General of King Faisal Charitable Foundation.
