Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia: Saudi Arabia and Indonesia have cooperation in various fields

Jakarta, Jumada II 02, 1438, March 1, 2017, SPA -- Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Osama bin Mohammed Al-Shuaibi stressed that the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia are great and historical, referring to the religious, social and commercial ties shared between the two sides since the spread of Islam in the archipelago during early nineteenth century. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, he said to mark the occasion of the current visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Indonesia, that the visit is a significant supporter for Muslims. He added that a number of agreements will be signed between the two countries in order to further consolidate security cooperation, especially the fight against terrorism, extremism and strengthen relations in all fields especially economic. During this visit, a number of regional and international issues of common concern will be discussed, as well as coordination and cooperation at all levels, he said. Al-Shuaibi pointed out that the size of bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia reached in 2008 nearly US $ 6 billion. In the context of Indonesia's participation in achieving the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030, bridges of scientific communication and exchange of knowledge between the Saudi and Indonesian universities will be built. He noted the efforts of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to the countries which are affected by wars and natural disasters.
