Oslo, Rabi'II 9, 1438, Jan 7, 2017, SPA -- Russia is increasingly attempting to influence opinion in Sweden, according to a report by the Swedish Institute for International Affairs and reported on in Saturday's Dagens Nyheter newspaper, according to dpa. The study found that Russia has been pushing false news in Sweden since 2014. One example cited is a fake telegram sent to the media that claimed Sweden's former foreign minister Carl Bildt was to become prime minister of Ukraine. When suspected Russian submarines entered Swedish waters, the media were often fed false information. The disinformation campaign was at its height when the Swedish parliament was voting on a deal with NATO. -- SPA 21:23 LOCAL TIME 18:23 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w307909
