Medellin, Safar 29, 1438, Nov 29, 2016, SPA -- A chartered airplane carrying a Brazilian first division football team crashed outside Medellin while on its way to a regional tournament, killing 76 people, Colombian officials said Tuesday. The British Aerospace 146 short-haul airplane, operated by a charter airline named LaMia, declared an emergency and lost radar contact just before 10 p.m. local time Monday due to an electrical failure, according to aviation authorities.
