GCC follow-up ministerial committee holds meeting in Riyadh

Riyadh, Safar 2, 1438, Nov 2, 2016, SPA -- The GCC ministerial committee, in charge of following-up the implementation of the GCC joint resolutions, held in Riyadh today its 16th meeting, chaired by the Bahraini minister for Shura and representatives affairs councils Ghanim bin Fadhl Abul-Ainain in the attendance of Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashed Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the GCC. Highlighting the role of the committee, Ghanim said the committee, assigned by the GCC supreme council, has taken a decision to remain dedicated to its assignment and commitment to follow-up the high-level resolutions to achieve the visions of the leadership of the group to further consolidate the current cooperation among their countries. He praised the cooperation of the secretariat general of the GCC in making the committee's work a success. Addressing the meeting, Dr. Al-Zayani reminded that the GCC leaders have approved at a meeting in Jeddah last May the recommendations forwarded by this committee to their 16th consultative meeting regarding the mechanism of implementing the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on enhancing the GCC joint work aiming to consolidate the real concept of cooperation among the GCC group in all economic, political, social, military and security affairs and upgrading the level of coordination among the member countries of the GCC in all fields to pave the way for their final unity. He cited the formation of the economic and development affairs commission which will tackle the economic and developmental issues of the member states before submitting its recommendations to the supreme council, noting that the commission will hold its first meeting in the few coming days.
