Mexico City, Dhu-AlQa'dah 04, 1437, August 07, 2016, SPA -- At least six people are dead in Mexico's eastern state of Veracruz after tropical storm Earl brought heavy rains and triggered landslides, officials said, according to dpa. Three of the victims, all from the same family, died in Coscomatepec, a municipality approximately 300 kilometres east of Mexico City, authorities said Saturday. The young family's home was buried under a mudslide; the father, mother and one of their sons died. Their second child, an 8-year-old boy, was rescued alive. Three other people also died in a landslide south of the main highway near Tequila. In Xalapa, the state capital of Veracruz, several houses collapsed. Tropical storm Earl, which originated with hurricane force near Belize on Thursday, was downgraded to a low-pressure tropical system on Saturday, with winds reaching only 55 kilometers per hour. --SPA 15:11 LOCAL TIME 12:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
