Washington, Shawwal 8, 1437, Jul 13, 2016, SPA -- US President Barack Obama is sending 47 troops to South Sudan to protect the embassy in Juba amid fighting there, dpa reported. The troops, who arrived in South Sudan Tuesday, were equipped for combat but were to be involved in protecting US citizens and property and would remain in the country until the security situation improves, Obama says in a letter to Congress. Another 130 troops are in Djibouti to provide support as needed, he says. -- SPA 23:21 LOCAL TIME 20:21 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
