Washington, Muharram 25, 1437, November 07, 2015, SPA -- State police in the southern US state of Louisiana have charged two police officers with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old boy during a car chase, media reports said Saturday. The boy, identified as Jeremy Mardis, died buckled in the front seat of the car, said Colonel Mike Edmonson, head of Louisiana State Police, dpa reported. Speaking at a Friday night news conference, Edmonson said officers Norris Greenhouse Jr and Derrick Stafford were wearing body cameras at the time of the car chase and shooting. He refused to describe the footage but called it "the most disturbing thing I've seen." Greenhouse Jr and Stafford were arrested Friday and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder for firing 18 shots Tuesday at the car, driven by Mardis' father Christopher Few, in the town of Marksville, Edmonson said. Few was critically injured in the shooting. The reason for the chase and shooting remained unclear. Mardis was struck by five bullets in his chest, according to Louisiana broadcaster WAFB. --SPA 23:33 LOCAL TIME 20:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
