Rome, Ramadan 23, 1436, July 10, 2015, SPA -- Ending world hunger by 2030 would require investments worth 267 billion dollars a year over the next 15 years, three United Nations agencies dealing with nutrition estimated in a joint report Friday. World hunger rates have been cut by roughly 50 per cent during the1990-2015 period, meeting one of the so-called Millennium Development Goals. The UN General Assembly is expected to adopt the more ambitious target of complete eradication in September. According to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP), this would cost an average of 267 billion dollars per year between 2016 and 2030, the equivalent of 0.3 per cent of world economic output in 2014 terms. --SPA 13:34 LOCAL TIME 10:34 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
