Ambassador Al-Mouallimi added that "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced its intention to develop an ambitious program to exploit nuclear energy program for peaceful purposes to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the preservation of the valuable hydrocarbon material for future generations in full consistent with the nuclear security requirements and to meet the maximum amount of the pilot standards set by the International Atomic Energy Agency in the stages of planning, construction and operation. The Kingdom is committed to the establishment of an accountability's national system for control of nuclear materials, and it exerts its best efforts in the development of customs equipment, border control and all law enforcement's agencies to prevent illegal trafficking in hazardous materials," He continued saying "The Government of the Kingdom reiterates that the elimination of nuclear weapons ensures certain security in the face of their use or threat of their using, as you can see that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is taking seriously the concerns of many non-nuclear-weapon countries in light of the continuity of instability in the Middle East and the growing risk due to the recent events in the region through the development of a binding international instrument to ensure the safety and stability of non-nuclear-weapon States and removal of full nuclear weapons." --SPA 14:43 LOCAL TIME 11:43 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
