The National Security Council spokesperson Bernadette Meehan stated that "The United States has been in close contact with President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the regional partners. She said: In response to the deteriorating security situation, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and their alliances have undertaken a military action to defend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s borders and to protect Yemen’s legitimate government.
