Ottawa, Rabi'II 25, 1436, Feb 14, 2015, SPA -- Canada Friday confirmed that it had discovered a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE or mad cow disease) in a beef cow in Alberta. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a statement that no part of the cow had reached the human food or animal feed systems in the first case of the disease in the country since 2011. "The CFIA is seeking to confirm the age of the animal, its history and how it became infected," the agency said in the statement. "The investigation will focus in on the feed supplied to this animal during the first year of its life." According to the CFIA, the latest case should not harm Canadian exports of beef. --SPA 12:43 LOCAL TIME 09:43 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
