Washington, Rabi'I 16, 1436, Jan 7, 2015, SPA -- Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Chief of General Intelligence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has held talks, during his current visit to the United States of America, with Assistant to the U.S. President for Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism Lisa Monaco, it was reported here today. Spokeswoman for the U.S. National Security Council Bernadette Meehan said in a statement that the meeting, which took place yesterday, dealt with aspects of Saudi U.S. cooperation and consolation on regional security issues in addition to the latest developments in Yemen and the continuing cooperation in the aftermath of the Saudi U.S. high-level consultations in the White House last month regarding the joint support for stability and security in Yemen. They also discussed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to keep in touch with the new Iraqi government and efforts to reach a political settlement to the dispute in Syria and a number of other regional issues, including Iran. The statement said Monaco has offered, on behalf of the U.S. President Barack Obama, condolences to the Kingdom on the killing of security men in an attack on a border guard patrol in the Northern Border region early this week.
