United Nations, Dhu-AlQa'dah 13, 1435, Sep 8, 2014, SPA -- The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially in Liberia, where many thousands of new cases are expected in the coming three weeks, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned Monday. In a statement, the U.N. health agency said that motorcycle-taxis and automobile-taxis are “a hot source of potential virus transmission” in Liberia, where conventional Ebola control measures “are not having an adequate impact.” The WHO said aid partners must intensify current efforts against Ebola in Liberia and elsewhere in West Africa. In Liberia, the disease had killed 1,089 people among 1,871 cases, according to the latest WHO update Friday. --SPA 23:45 LOCAL TIME 20:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
