Sofia, Muharram 12, 1436, Nov 5, 2014, SPA -- Bulgarian President Rosen Plevenliev on Wednesday designated conservative Boyko Borisov as prime minister, paving the way for his return to power less than two years after he resigned amid nationwide protests. According to dpa, Borisov, 55, has a week to present a cabinet to parliament. He is yet to say whether he has enough support for that. His GERB party won the most seats in snap elections a month ago, but fell well short of a majority, capturing 84 of the 240 seats. On Tuesday, the Reformist Bloc, with 23 seats, promised to support Borisov and GERB, but even that left him 14 seats short of a majority. The polls on October 5 were held only 17 months after the previous vote. Borisov served as prime minister from 2009 to early 2013. --SPA 17:46 LOCAL TIME 14:46 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
