Cairo, October 22, 2019, SPA -- On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, has invited participants in the second meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Water Council at the ministerial level currently being held in Cairo to attend the meetings of the fifth session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers Responsible for Water, which will be hosted by the Kingdom during the period from 5 to 7 October, 2020. The Minister said that the cooperation with the Member States of the OIC in the field of water is of great interest to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he looks forward to further cooperation and collaboration to achieve water security and sustainable development of these countries. He added that the Kingdom has sought to develop and enable the water sector to overcome challenges through several initiatives and programs, most notably the adoption of the national water strategy, which aims to reach a sustainable water sector that provides safe supply of high quality and efficiency in accordance with the principles of integrated water management, and achieve the Kingdom's vision (2030) and sustainable development objectives. -- SPA 14:52 LOCAL TIME 11:52 GMT 0017 www.spa.gov.sa/w1195610
