Dubai, September 21, 2019, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) participated here yesterday in the 4th International Middle East Plastic and Dermatology Conference as a humanitarian partner by organizing an exhibition and symposium on the Kingdom's relief and humanitarian efforts. Director General of Dubai Health Authority Humaid Al-Qitami opened the conference on behalf of the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Dubai Health Authority Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The exhibition included many pictures and displays on the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom through the Center to the victims in the world through its various projects. Assistant Director of the Department of Medical and Environmental Assistance at the KSRelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Wadei pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has known since its founding to support humanitarian work and relief around the world, and it is one of the largest supporters in the world for charity and humanitarian action . Dr. Al-Wadei discussed aspects of humanitarian and relief actions provided by the Kingdom through its glorious history and what is offered through the KSRelief, especially in Yemen. Al-Wadei reviewed some of the Kingdom's humanitarian efforts throughout its history, pointing out that the Kingdom provided $93 billion in support to 84 countries between 1996 and 2019, while the KSRelief implemented 1,057 projects in 44 countries with a total value of $3.5 billion. Al-Wadei explained that the Center has implemented 368 projects in Yemen, in partnership with 80 partners from the United Nations and international and local NGOs including projects of food security, health and early recovery, support and coordination of humanitarian operations, water and environmental sanitation and hygiene, shelter and non-food items, protection, education, logistics, nutrition and communications in emergency cases. --SPA 15:36 LOCAL TIME 12:36 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1176281
