Riyadh, Mar 21, 2019, SPA -- Under the patronage of Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, the Saudi Digital Library (SDL) will hold next Saturday a ceremony of the Excellence Award for the Scientific Production of Saudi Universities in the International Databases. Based on the keenness of the SDL to acquire and provide the production of faculty members, researchers and students according to the international publishing standards, SDL has established "Excellence Award for the Scientific Production of Saudi Universities in the International Databases". It is an annual award for designed for Saudi universities, faculty members and postgraduate students to support the excellence in the Saudi scientific production published in the international scientific journals, depending on the results of the periodic reports of Saudi scientific production published in the international journals. The SDL seeks to create an active environment for the scientific research, creativity and innovation, and motivate the Saudi universities to lead globally in the scientific production in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030. The award aims to motivate university members to use databases, which will achieve the best use of digital sources available in the SDL. The award highlights roles of the distinguished participants in the Saudi scientific production and supports their contributions in the society, raises the positive competition in the field of scientific publishing among faculty members, researchers and post-graduate students, encourages the motivation to excellence in the scientific production published in the scientific journals for the members of the Saudi universities, raises the awareness of the SDL role in supporting the scientific production and increasing the use of the digital information sources available in the SDL and develops the scientific research outputs of the universities quantitatively and qualitatively by encouraging publishing in the prestigious scientific journals to achieve the global knowledge dissemination. The ceremony includes three morning workshops in addition to the evening online training workshops.
