Jeddah, 09 January 2019 SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today condemned the attempted coup against the constitutional institutions of the Gabonese Republic, which ended in failure. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), said in a statement that it has followed with great interest recent developments in the Republic of Gabon, a member state of the Organization, as some military elements attempted to coup against constitutional institutions in the country, which failed. The Organization confirms its condemnation of any action contrary to basic principles of its charter which affirms the importance of preserving constitutional legitimacy.
