Dr. Al Rabeeah: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Patronize 1st Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum Riyadh, Jumada I 29, 1439, Feb 15, 2018, SPA -- Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor Royal Court and General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), announced here today that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will patronize on February 26-27, 2018 "First Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum". During a press conference held at InterContinental Hotel in Riyadh, Dr. Al Rabeeah affirmed that the Kingdom, throughout its history, plays a pioneering role in the humanitarian and relief fields through serving the international community around the world, adding that the Kingdom realizes the importance of this role in alleviating the humanitarian suffering and guaranteeing a decent life for all needy people. "Based on the Saudi leadership to help the people in need, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center with the aim of providing relief and humanitarian assistance and supervising a delivery of these assistance to the affected people abroad," Dr. Al Rabeeah said. "The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has issued directives to establish the KSRelief on May 13, 2015 in order to provide various humanitarian and relief programs in accordance with the humanitarian noble aims and principles. The KSRelief implemented 328 programs in 38 states, most of them are in Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Somalia," the KSRelief supervisor general added. He added that the center works with 119 humanitarian partners, including the United Nations organizations and a number of non-governmental local and international organizations, disclosing that the center's humanitarian sectors included food security, health, women and child projects, nutrition, water, environmental sanitation and education in addition to child soldiers rehabilitation project and programs for children and women. Dr. Al Rabeeah added that the KSRelief projects included a number of shelter programs, including the housing village in Djibouti with 300 housing units for the Yemeni refugees in Djibouti. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted 561,000 Yemenis, 262,000 Syrians and 249,000 Rohingya people of Burma. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes the visitors to integration in the Saudi society and take advantage of the medical and educational services, and the opportunities of being part of the work force," the KSRelief General Supervisor added. Dr. Al Rabeeah disclosed that the forum, first of its kind, represents a platform for changing values and finding practical solutions in the humanitarian fields in addition to main issues concerning humanitarian planning and delivery of the assistance, stressing that the forum's sessions and discussions focus on humanitarian assistance, funding, innovation, restructuring in the humanitarian sector and localization of aid. The forum will attract more than 45 international and regional organizations.
