Davos, Jumada I 08, 1439, January 25, 2018, SPA -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir participated in a discussion session at the World Economic Forum entitled "The search for a new balance in the Middle East". The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, wants the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be a strong country internally and internationally, relying on innovation to serve as an example to be followed by the Arabs and the world and to take its real place among the ranks of countries, and to achieve this, change must be comprehensive and in line with the aspirations of citizens, especially the youth. He said that the world is not used to seeing the kingdom moving quickly and boldly, and that there were those who criticized the kingdom because it was moving slowly. Today, the opposite is happening, especially as it has a youth capacity of about 70% of the society and most of them interact through social media and keep pace with developments in the world, and thousands of them study in different countries of the world from Japan to the United States of America. They have experience and ambitions. They also have confidence in leadership to open doors for them both men and women, which will allow our country to move forward. "To achieve this, attention has been paid to the areas of entertainment, innovation, media, anti-corruption, as well as to bringing investment and entrepreneurship," he said, citing the NEOM City project, which relies on technology, artificial intelligence and clean energy. On the Iranian regime, the minister said that since 1979, the Iranian Revolution has changed the Middle East region to the worse through its sectarian policies and its continued interference in the affairs of other countries in accordance with the principle of exporting the revolution stipulated in the Iranian constitution. He pointed out that Iran has established Hezbollah in Lebanon and Al-Houthi militia in Yemen and is involved in attacks against embassies and diplomats and is working to export terrorism to Europe, Latin America and others. Regarding Yemen, he explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had responded to the Yemeni legitimate government's appeal to defeat the Houthi rebels and in this, it cooperated with its allies. He said that the Houthi militia of the Iranian regime would not be allowed to be another version of the terrorist group Hezbollah in Yemen. On the other hand, the Foreign Minister held a number of bilateral meetings with presidents, ministers and politicians during which he discussed a number of topics, the most important of which are means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and developments in the region and the world. --SPA 01:39 LOCAL TIME 22:39 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w595360
