Kuwait-based Yemeni consultations extended for one more week at UN request

Kuwait, Shawwal 25, 1437, Jul 30, 2016, SPA -- At the request of the United Nations, the Kuwaiti foreign ministry has agreed to extend the Inter-Yemen consultation for one more week, ending on 7th August, it was officially reported here today. In a statement to the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA), a source of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that, based on the positive developments at the consultation table which took place over the last two weeks, at the end of which the UN envoy on Yemen has submitted a report including the principles of a reconciliatory solution, and according to his official request coinciding with calls from many sisterly and friendly countries to extend the consultations for one more week, and based on the keenness of Kuwait, which played host to the consultations for more than 90 days to reach a conciliatory solution that achieves security and stability for Yemen and the region and lifts the sufferings of the Yemeni people, the foreign ministry has positively responded to the UN plea to extend the consultations for one more week, ending on August 7, 2016.
