The Minister of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the Kingdom has started since the events of September a series of major steps in confronting terrorism, saying, " We have put financial control mechanisms unmatched in any other country; we have closed institutions used to collect donations to support extremist issues and terrorism; laws have been enacted to criminalize the financing of terrorism; a number of persons have been tried; many of those involved in supporting terrorism have been imprisoned; and we have put the best systems to follow up the transfer of cash money. And we have strengthened our capabilities in fighting terrorism until the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become today at the forefront of countries in fighting terrorism. " He added, "We have fought Al-Qaeda in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and are fighting them in Yemen. We are fighting Daesh (ISIS) in Syria, and we are working with our allies topped by the United States of America and other allies in the pursuit of terrorists and those who support their actions. The Kingdom has also mobilized international efforts against the scourge of terrorism. It was one of the first countries in the implementation of a national awareness campaign against terrorism and extremism. We hosted the first international counter terrorism conference in Riyadh in 2005 which was attended by more than 50 countries to discuss ways to combat terrorism more effectively. In the same year, the Kingdom called for the establishment of an international center to combat terrorism in the United Nations. We have financed this center later with an amount of approximately $ 110 million to strengthen the United Nations ability in the collection of the countries of the world in fighting terrorism.
