London, Shaba'an 14, 1437, May 21, 2016, SPA -- Ten-man Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 after extra-time on Saturday to win the FA Cup for a record-equalling 12th time amid rumours Jose Mourinho will take over as manager next season. Substitute Jesse Lingard's brilliant winning goal in the 110th minute gave United their first FA Cup triumph since 2004 and matched Arsenal's title mark. It came six minutes after Chris Smalling was sent off for a second yellow card at Wembley Stadium. United were twice denied by the woodwork in the second half as Fellaini hit the crossbar and Martial headed off the far post. Jason Puncheon replaced Yohan Cabaye in the 72nd minute and put Palace in front six minutes later by beating De Gea from an angle on the left side of the area. United quickly answered as Rooney made a brilliant run into the area and lofted a ball to the far post which Fellaini chested down for Mata to volley in through the legs of Ward. De Gea saved from Bolasie in extra-time and after Smalling was sent off for tackling Bolasie, the Spaniard made a foot save against Dwight Gayle. Then with penalty kicks looming, Lingard settled things with a volley from the edge of the area into the top corner. --SPA 02:09 LOCAL TIME 23:09 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
