Helsinki, Sha'ban 13, 1437, May 20, 2016, SPA -- Finnish telecommunications company Nokia late Friday said it will cut about 1,000 jobs in the Nordic country after completing talks with unions, according to dpa. At the end of last year, the company had about 6,700 employees in Finland and had initially estimated 1,300 layoffs. Most of the 1,032 job cuts are to be completed this summer as part of a cost-cutting programme announced after Nokia acquired rival Alcatel-Lucent of France in January. Nokia's focus is on providing broadband infrastructure software and services after it sold its handset business to Microsoft in 2014 after losing its top position in the smartphone market to Apple and companies using Google's Android operating system. --SPA 00:54 LOCAL TIME 21:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
