Riyadh, 01 December 2018 SPA -- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, USA and the United Kingdom held a meeting with senior United Nations officials, at the headquarters of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, here today, chaired by the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Saeed Al-Jaber. The meeting was attended by the Assistant to the UAE Foreign Minister Sultan Al-Shamsi, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia Simon Collis, Ambassador of the United States of America to the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Yemen Fiona Walker Doyle, Deputy Director of the Department for International Development, in Yemen, Louis Walker, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock and the UN Resident Coordinator, in Yemen, and the UN Humanitarian Coordinator Lise Grande. Recent discussions in the UN Security Council, which highlighted growing concern over the deteriorating humanitarian and economic situation, inside Yemen, were dealt with, during the meeting. Ambassador Al-Jaber explained that the meeting dealt with the humanitarian situation and the mechanism of support, in Yemen, and means to improve ability to meet the challenges it faces whether by the Houthi militias backed by Iran or from the living situation or the Yemeni economy.
