Hanoi, Shawwal 14, 1439, Jun 28, 2018, SPA -- Vietnamese police killed two suspected heroin traffickers and arrested three other people during a raid on Thursday on a commune in northern Vietnam, state media reported. About 200 police, with several armored cars, surrounded the house where the two men - who were linked with a drugs trafficking ring in 2015 - were staying, dpa cited police as saying. Eight people linked to the same gang were sentenced to death and three got life sentences in prison last September for trafficking 250 kilograms of heroin, but the two men killed on Thursday had managed to evade capture. The men refused to surrender, and stayed in their house in Long Luong commune in Son La province, from where they exchanged fire with police in a gunfight that lasted several hours. Police seized three grenades, four rifles, 415 bullets and many gas tanks from the commune in a mountainous area close to the Laos border. --SPA 02:23 LOCAL TIME 23:23 GMT 0033 www.spa.gov.sa/w709738
