Riyadh, Rajab 13, 1439, Mar 30, 2018, SPA -- Launching "Solar Power Project Plan 2030" attracted a number of energy experts in the world, particularly that the Kingdom announced to produce 200 gigawatts of the solar power in 2030. The experts affirm that this project will transfer the Kingdom from an advanced country in exporting oil to a country in exporting the sustainable energy due to the Kingdom's natural potentials to establish environmentally friendly industries through energies of: sun, wind and sand rich in silica. The aims of this global project are in line with the International Energy Agency's expectations that the solar power will be the world's largest energy source by 2050, as well as with the strategy of the Kingdom Vision 2030 to diversify the national economy and stimulate investment and non-oil industries. This project will decline the price of solar power production's cost and create more job opportunities for the Saudi citizens, including 100,000 jobs in the solar power projects alone. The sunlight reaches the Kingdom in eight minutes due to the geographical location of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 8,200 watts of the radiation projection per m2 per hour, which is among the world's highest radiation rates. --More 16:03 LOCAL TIME 13:03 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w654918
