Al-Esmaelia, Egypt, Jumada II 17, 1439, March 05, 2018, SPA -- President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi of Egypt and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Vice President of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Minister of Defense, paid a get-acquainted visit to Al-Esmaelia city today to inspect a number of economic projects. They were accompanied by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's official delegation and Egypt's senior officials. During a special ceremony, the President and the Crown Prince listened to a presentation on the economic zone of the Suez Canal, designed to transform Egypt to an international logistic commercial center, offering giant investment opportunities in the industrial, service and touristic sectors. The presentation cast light on the wide potentials to be created through cooperation opportunities between the Suez Canal economic zone and Saudi Arabia's NEOM future-project on the Red Sea coast, making them a center of attraction of the world trade. Also, they watched a video on the Suez Canal's tunnels project, that links Sinai province with the rest of Egyptian territories through an advanced trade and transport network. Then, both the President and the Crown Prince had an inspection tour of the Suez Canal's bottom tunnels, which were designed to cut time to cross the canal to only 20 minutes instead of days as is the current situation. The inspection tour also took the President and the Crown Prince to the new Esmaelia city on the eastern coast of the canal, accommodating pioneering housing projects. Escorted by a number of diversified sea units, the President and the Crown Prince had a sea picnic in the marine stream of the Suez Canal to reach Al-Fursan resort in Al-Esmaelia city where they co-opened the retreat which is considered an integrated touristic project. -- SPA 17:47 LOCAL TIME 14:47 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w633447
