KSrelief Signs a Project to Upgrade Sadar District Hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh

Riyadh, Jumada II 12, 1439, Feb 28, 2018, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed today a project with a total cost of $2 million for upgrading Sadar District Hospital in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, with the World Health Organization (WHO), on the sidelines of Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum. The project was signed by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor-Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, and Peter Salama, Executive Director of the Health Emergencies Programme in WHO. The project aims to enhance health care services for Rohingyas refugees in Bangladesh, support and upgrade Sadar District Hospital in Cox’s Bazar by renewing the hospital suites to accommodate additional 250 beds, as well as supporting the hospital with medicines and equipment. The project also aims to train 50 doctors on prevention and control of infectious diseases, as well as establishing isolation ward including the equipment and furniture, and training of 100 doctors and 200 nurses on cholera treatment. --SPA 18:10 LOCAL TIME 15:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w629515
