The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's great appreciation of the invitation of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, for holding this important and critical conference. "We are required to exert efforts to support financing of projects of Iraq reconstruction, considered main foundations for regional stability and security," Al-Jubeir said. He also thanked the Emir, Government and people of Kuwait for warm welcome and generous hospitality, congratulating the Republic of Iraq on the victory against terrorist organization "ISIS" and lauding the Iraqi efforts led by the Iraqi Prime Minister. "I would like to refer to the efforts culminating in reopening the new Arar crossing and resuming the flights of the Saudi Arabian Airlines to Baghdad and Erbil serving passengers and commercial traffic between the two countries," Al-Jubeir said. "Establishment of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordinating Council is part of the two leaderships' efforts to consolidate bilateral relations into the desired level, in addition to opening new horizons of cooperation in the political, security, economic, development, trade, investment, tourism and cultural fields," he said. He affirmed that cooperation in the fields of energy, industry and mining is one of the most important areas of cooperation between the two countries, adding that the Kingdom is looking forward, with collaboration of the government and private sectors, to support and cooperate in development of infrastructure and industrial capability in the Republic of Iraq. He pointed out that companies, in different sectors in the Kingdom, formed teams and alliances in many fields to provide necessary support for reconstruction in Iraq.
