Saudi Customs Adopt New Regulations, Procedures on Tobacco, related Derivatives' Transit Shipments

Riyadh, Jumada I 19, 1439, Feb 5, 2018, SPA -- Saudi Customs Department has announced adopting new procedures and regulations relating to shipment of tobacco to the Kingdom, for the purpose of transit via its territories and destined for other terminals. These newly approved controls stipulated that the shipment of tobacco and its derivatives shall be in a container or refrigerator, with doors tightly closed with locks and bearing customs seals, on arrival at the customs entry. The Customs' announcement pointed out that metal bases of the door locks and door hinges on the sides installed, shall be in a clear and non-removable manner, in addition to the need to examine the shipment through radiological examination systems, manual inspection if necessary and placement of tracking devices on the container or fridge, to remain under observation and surveillance, while walking the line on crossing the territory of the Kingdom for the final destination. --More 19:59 LOCAL TIME 16:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w603957
