Tokyo, Rabi'I 13, 1439 H., December 01, 2017, SPA -- One person was killed and 11 others injured after a fire and an explosion at a chemical plant in central Japan on Friday, local media reported. The early-morning blast at the plant killed a 64-year-old man, while those injured, three of them seriously, were taken to hospital, broadcaster NHK reported, citing local fire department officials. The plant is run by Arakawa Chemical Industries and located in the city of Fuji, near Mount Fuji. Arakawa Chemical officials said the injured are in their 20s to 60s, some of them employees and others from a different company, the Kyodo News agency reported.
