United Nations, Muharram 8, 1439 H., September 28, 2017, SPA -- Undersecretary of the United Nations for combating terrorism Vladimir Voroncov underscored the importance of enhancing international cooperation to fight the epidemic and prevent violent extremism leading to terrorism. This came in a session held here today by the UN Security Council on threats facing the world peace and security resulting from terrorist actions. The meeting coincides with the issuance of the UN Security Council's resolution No. 1373. He said he held more than 50 high-level meetings with member countries, and international and regional organizations last week on the sidelines of the UN general assembly. Based on the consultations and speeches delivered by the States in the public debate during the general assembly's meetings, the international official classified six main fields in the field of anti-terror efforts, including enhancing the international cooperation in the field of fighting terrorism, preventing violent extremism which leads to terror, facing the use of terrorists to internet, enhancing of dialogue among cultures, confronting the threats of terrorists to foreigners and increasing the exchange of information and the best ways for practicing the fight against terror. --SPA 01:23 LOCAL TIME 22:23 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w500563
