Aden,26 Shawwal,1438 AH, 20 July,2017 , SPA -- The cholera epidemic in Yemen has been exacerbated by coup militias and the numbers announced by the World Health Organization on a daily basis are increasing. The latest statistics of cholera victims reached 1817 in less than three months, while 363,000 cases of the deadly plague were recorded in 21 Yemeni governorates out of 22 provinces since 27 last April . A number of officials in the legitimate government warned of the consequences of the Houthi coup militias pillaging and stealing drugs and called on the international community to act immediately to deter the Houthi militias and stop their criminal behavior. The Minister of Local Administration of Yemen, the head of the Higher Relief Committee, Abdul Raqib Fateh, denounced the coup militias for trading in drugs of cholera epidemic and selling them in the black market in the provinces of Hodeidah, Hajja, Ibb and Dhamar, stressing that the trading of militias in these drugs foreshadow a terrible humanitarian disaster. The World Health Organization has announced the arrival of 67 tons of medicines in Sanaa alone to treat cholera patients free of charge, but Houthis seized these drugs and forced patients to buy treatment from pharmacies outside the hospitals. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense issued his directives to provide an amount of $ 66.7 million to contain the cholera epidemic that has swept several parts of Yemen and get rid of its causes in response to the call of the World Health Organization and support for water and environmental sanitation in Yemen which came as an extension of the policy of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to stand with its brothers to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni citizens after the militias of the Houthi coup and ousted Saleh caused this disaster .
